I thought to write a blog for a year to see what I would come up with. No mandate, just a weekly missive from that sausage factory inside my head. I wondered if I could come up with fifty separate things to muse over in the course of a year. Turns out I had a lot more packed away than I imagined. Four hundred blogs later, Michel de Montaigne, father of the “essay” might be amused.
Middle age and beyond can be interesting territory to navigate. In some ways, you experience more feelings than a teen-ager, the sweetness mixed with the salt of a little hindsight. It’s sitting in the middle of the bell curve, looking both ways and taking notes.
These are my own footprints in the sand, for better or for worse, the things that are important to me, my deepest thoughts and yearnings. If you find them interesting or useful, then my mission is complete.
